National Geographic Mizzy Lynx

teiff has partnered with National Geographic to create a special collection of plush toy animals in support of preserving biodiversity. The collection includes a wide variety of animals that were photographed by Joel Sartore for the National Geographic Photo Ark species preservation project.

Mizzy lynx is a new member of the Steiff National Graphic collection. He lies down with pride and features a wonderful plush coat in beige and brown. Mizzy lynx is 35cm with lynx tufts on the ears, and a black nose. His face is lifelike thanks to skilled airbrushing. The velvety-soft paws and the soles are offset in light brown.

A wonderful animal, Mizzy lynx is on the list of endangered species, ranked as "critically endangered". In his habitat of Spain and in the bushland, he is subject to illegal hunting. Continually growing cities and the expansion of agriculture and forestry are making its habitat smaller. Even increasing road traffic also presents major problems.

The lynx population is currently recovering thanks to strict measures for protecting biodiversity and the support of organisations like National Geographic.

Proceeds from the sale of any Steiff National Geographic products support scientists, explorers and researchers from the National Geographic Society all over the world.
